Magpies and Crows

The Problem
Magpies are carnivores and can have a devastating impact on song and garden bird populations, raiding nests for the defenceless young. Crows are more frequently considered a pest when they come into contact with humans, crops and buidlings, where their fouling can be a cause of disease. Crows are carrion but have also been known to kill smaller species.

The Solution
Electronic audible devices are an efficient control method, while visual deterrents, such as the deployment of using eagle owls or eagles, will move the problem birds on. Shooting is also used, often coupled with the deployment of Larsen traps.
